Transparent level gauges are designed with two plate transparent glasses between which the fluid is contained, providing clear level indication due to the differing transparency of the liquid and vapor. For applications like water steam, a light source at the back of the gauge enhances visibility by reflecting light at the separation surface, ensuring accurate readings.

These gauges are versatile and suitable for various installations. They allow the use of mica or Polytrifluorochloroethylene shields to protect the glass from corrosive fluids, enable interface observation, and permit monitoring of liquid color. The metal body houses an internal chamber and front windows with high-resistance transparent glass, secured with sealing joints and cover plates. Typically, valves are added for shut-off and disassembly without draining the vessel. Transparent level gauges are ideal for colorless, fluid liquids and steam applications, offering durability and functionality in demanding environments.
